A MODERN, PRO ENVIRONMENT CONSERVATIVE VICE PRESIDENT FOR THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT
Antonella Sberna, elected to the European Parliament for Fratelli d'Italia, the Party of Prime Minister Georgia Meloni, is now Vice President of the European Parliament. Born in 1982, graduated in Public Relations in Milan and with work experience at the European Parliament in Brussels and at the Consulate of Italy in Los Angeles, California, Sberna also worked for 8 years in the Senate of the Republic and until 2023 worked for an agency of communication and institutional relations. She is married and has three daughters. In 2013 and 2018 she was elected at the Municipality of Viterbo as Councillor for social services, youth and family policies and relations with the EU. First elected in the list of Brothers of Italy in 2022, she was a councillor at the Municipality of Viterbo. Elected by secret ballot, the 11 Vice-Presidents of the European Parliament are among the most authoritative and influential MEPs and in addition to the name of Pina Picierno, veteran of the PD in Strasbourg of the Socialists and Democrats group, also Antonella Sberna is now a vice-chairwoman of the European Parliament and she is the first member of the Fratelli d'Italia Party and of the European Conservative Reformist (ECR) Parliamentary group. Sberna is a great novelty for the European Parliament, because for the first time a representative of the Italian right is elected to the vice-presidency of the European Parliament. She is married and has three daughters. In 2013 and 2018 she was elected with large popular consensus to the Municipality of Viterbo he became Councillor for social services, youth, family policies and relations with the EU. The new Vice President Sberna said immediately after the election that "Europe must protect the right to health, well-being and quality of life for all EU citizens, bearing in mind that cooperation between institutions and third sector is essential for the success of social policies, the world of volunteering and civil society, and it must truly become everyone’s home.
